Mother's Day Reflections
/Drew DeVries
Mother’s Day has just passed, and for many of us, it brought a mix of emotions. Some experienced joy and gratitude, celebrating the love and influence of mothers. Others felt the weight of loss, longing, or complicated relationships. Most of us likely carried a bit of both. We often want to quickly define moments like this—good or hard, blessing or struggle. But our first impressions don’t always tell the whole story. Over time, God has a way of bringing meaning, healing, and growth in ways we don’t immediately see.
So instead of rushing to label what this weekend meant, we can hold it gently. We can thank God for the love we’ve known while also bringing Him the places that still ache. He sees every part of our story—both joy and sorrow—and He is present in all of it. As we move into this week, may we keep our hearts open to God and to one another, trusting that He is still at work in every story here.
